About

"My life's work is to guide those who need to light their path. I am here for you…" said Ruth, "It is through my own journey that allows me to understand the day to day struggles we all face."

Ruth is licensed by the State of New York as a Clinical Social Worker.. Ruth obtained advanced training from the

Albert Ellis Institute for Rational Emotive and Cognitive Behavioral Techniques.

Earned a Professional Certification in Traumatic Stress Studies through the Trauma Research Foundation in partnership with PESI, Inc.

Has been certified in:

  • Trauma Healing Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) and

  • Tapping (Treatments for Anxiety, Trauma and more)

  • Alzheimers Foundation of America in “AFA Partners in Care” that focused on working with the “care individual” of the Person with Alzheimers and/or dementia.

Over the past 25 years, my therapeutic approach has been primarily focused on the modality of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.  This has been very helpful in guiding individuals to understand how their thoughts motivate actions and how these interventions can “re-train” the mind to think in healthier ways.  Over time we hope that individuals learn to apply methods that we teach them.  While this is still an important part of my practice, more recently, I became interested in Trauma Healing and that sometimes we must develop ways to reach and treat individuals beyond “talk therapy” which has opened up pathways and treatments which led to additional certifications.

Given the fact that we have been existing in a PANDEMIC for more than a year, we have all suffered some level of Trauma and we will also experience the ripple effect.

Some of us have a personal experience of Childhood Trauma; some of us experience Adult Trauma; Cultural Trauma; and others. However, each of us experiences Trauma of any kind very differently. In light of this I have added new Professional modalities that explore and treat these different manifestations of Trauma; adding modalities of EFT and Tapping,

“It is through our own Trauma that we can understand the pain and suffering of those we want to help – it touches every sense of our being, but sometimes we cannot speak it…. But that does not mean it cannot be heard”
